Scheduled & Disappearing Messages
Scheduling a send and setting a disappearing-message timer are both Nuts Premium features, available from the same chat header menu.
Scheduling a message
- Open a conversation and type the message you want to send.
- Tap the ⋯ menu in the chat header and choose Schedule message.
- Pick a time: In 1 hour, Tomorrow, 9 AM, or Next Monday, 9 AM.
Your message sends automatically at the time you picked — you don’t need to have the app open.
On the web
The web app offers the same three presets, plus a Custom date & time option if none of the presets fit. To open the scheduler on nuts.social, press and hold (or right-click) the send button instead of using a header menu.
Managing scheduled messages
To see what’s queued up, tap the ⋯ menu in the chat header and choose Scheduled messages. Each pending message shows a preview and its send time. Tap the x next to one to cancel it — canceling removes the message entirely; there’s currently no way to edit a scheduled message’s time or content, so if you need to change either, cancel it and schedule a new one.
Disappearing messages
Disappearing messages set a timer on a conversation so new messages clear themselves automatically after a set period.
- Tap the ⋯ menu in the chat header and choose Disappearing messages.
- Pick a duration: Off, 1 hour, 24 hours, or 7 days.
The timer applies to the whole conversation going forward, not to a single message. In a group chat, only the owner can turn disappearing messages on or off; in a direct message, either person can change it. Once it’s on, the chat header shows the active duration so everyone in the conversation can see it’s enabled.
[!NOTE] Exactly how disappearing messages handle content that was sent before you turn the timer on can vary. If you’re relying on this for older messages, don’t assume the timer sweeps your existing history — turn it on and confirm the behavior in your own chat first.
