Pinned Posts
Pinning keeps an important post visible at the top of a community — a welcome message, an announcement, anything you don’t want members to scroll past.
Who can pin
Only a community’s owner or its moderators can pin a post — even if you wrote the post yourself, you need to also be a moderator to pin it.
Pinning a post
-
Open the post’s ⋯ menu, inside the community’s own feed.
-
Tap Pin to community.
The post moves to the top of the community’s feed, with a small pin icon next to Pinned in its byline.
Outside the community — in your home or Following feed — a pinned post’s byline instead reads “Pinned • in community name,” so you know where it came from. Pinned status doesn’t carry over to a profile, Bookmarks, or the post’s own detail page.
Unpinning
Open the same ⋯ menu on a pinned post and tap Unpin from community.
There’s no fixed limit on how many posts you can pin, but pin sparingly — the point is to surface what matters most, not to fill the top of the feed.
On the web
Pinning a post on the web asks you first whether to let members know: choose Pin & notify members to send a notification, or Pin silently to skip it. On the app, pinning is always silent — you’ll see a “Post pinned to community” confirmation, but members aren’t notified either way.
