Replies, Reactions & Forwarding

Replying to a message

Nuts gives you two ways to reply to a specific message:

  1. Long-press the message, then tap Reply from the actions sheet that appears.
  2. Swipe it to the side — on your own messages, a quick swipe reveals a reply hint and starts the reply immediately, no menu needed.

Either way, a preview strip showing “Replying to [name]” appears above the message box, with a short preview of what you’re replying to. Type your reply and send as normal. To back out of a reply without sending, tap the x on the preview strip.

Once sent, your reply shows the quoted original above it. Tap that quote to jump straight to the original message in the conversation.

On the web

Right-click (or long-press on a touchscreen) a message to open the same actions menu. You can also swipe or click-and-drag a message to the side to reply directly, the same shortcut as the app.

Reacting with emoji

Long-press any message to bring up a row of quick reactions. Tap one to react — tap the same emoji again to remove your reaction. Your most recently used reactions move to the front of the row, so your go-to reactions stay handy.

Need something outside the quick set? Tap the smile icon at the end of the row to open the full emoji picker.

To see who reacted to a message, long-press (or press and hold, on web) the reaction chips shown under it. Nuts shows you the names of everyone who reacted with that emoji.

Forwarding a message

  1. Long-press the message you want to forward.
  2. Tap Forward.
  3. Search or scroll to find the chat (or chats) you want to send it to, then tap to select.

You can select multiple messages before forwarding by starting a multi-select, and you can forward to more than one conversation at once. There’s no extra confirmation step — tapping a chat sends the message right away, and a checkmark confirms it went through.

Other message actions

The same long-press menu also has:

  • Copy text — copies the message content to your clipboard.
  • Copy link — copies a direct link to the message.
  • Pin to chat — see Pinned Messages & In-Chat Search.
  • Edit — available on your own text messages.
  • Delete — available on your own messages, with a confirmation step since it can’t be undone.
