Payments, Escrow & Refunds

Free sessions

Free appointment types have no payment step at all — confirm a slot and you’re booked, right away.

How a paid booking is protected

A paid booking is designed around one rule: Nuts holds the payment in escrow, not the creator. When you book a paid session, your payment doesn’t go straight to the creator — it’s held by the platform until the meeting actually happens:

  • After the meeting happens, the payment is released to the creator, minus a 1% platform fee. You’re never charged more than the session’s listed price — the fee comes out of the creator’s payout, not on top of what you paid.
  • If the creator doesn’t show up, you’re refunded automatically — no questions asked, no need to contact support.
  • If you cancel ahead of time (or the creator does), any payment is refunded in full.

Paying

Paid bookings can be paid with USDC from your Nuts wallet — see Payment Methods for how crypto payments work on Nuts.

Reschedules and unclear outcomes

A creator can offer a one-time free reschedule on a paid booking — the payment stays exactly where it is; only the meeting time changes. If it’s ever unclear whether a meeting actually happened (for example, a bad connection on one side), the booking is held for review rather than being automatically refunded or released — reach out through Contact & Support if this happens to you.

Where this stands today

Free sessions are open to book right now, end to end. Paid bookings show the full flow described above, including this escrow protection — but paid checkout isn’t open yet. Nuts will let you know the moment it is.
