Chat Wallpapers & Themes

Some Nuts Premium themes come with matching chat art — a softened background image that sits behind your messages instead of a plain color. Turning this on applies the wallpaper across your chats, not just one conversation.

Turning on a chat wallpaper

1. Open your theme picker (from Settings).
2. Choose a premium theme. If that theme has dedicated chat art, Nuts asks: “Use this in your chats too?” with a short explanation that the background is applied softly behind your messages, tuned for both light and dark mode.
3. Tap Apply to turn it on, or Not now to keep the theme without the wallpaper.

You can also turn the wallpaper on or off later without switching themes: in the theme picker, look for the Use as chat wallpaper switch under any theme that has matching chat art.

Not every theme includes a chat wallpaper — the switch and the prompt only appear for themes with dedicated chat art.

Light and dark variants

Each chat wallpaper has a version tuned for light mode and one for dark mode. Nuts switches between them automatically based on your current appearance setting, so the background stays legible either way.

To turn a wallpaper off, open the theme picker and switch to a theme without chat art, or turn off the Use as chat wallpaper switch.

Chat wallpapers work the same way on nuts.social, with the same premium themes and the same light/dark switching. You’ll see the same prompt after picking a theme with matching chat art.
