Your Feed

The feed is the first thing you see when you open Nuts. It’s split into two surfaces — Following and Discover — and every post in it carries the same set of actions: react, like, comment, share, and save.

Following vs. Discover

At the top of the feed you’ll find a rounded pill with two options:

  • Following — posts from the people you follow and the communities you’ve joined, roughly newest first.
  • Discover — the open feed of public posts from across Nuts, ranked for you. This is where My Algorithm, Not Interested, and your behavior (what you watch, like, and skip) all shape what shows up.

Tap either side of the pill to switch. If you’re new to Nuts and haven’t followed anyone yet, the app opens on Discover by default so you’re not staring at an empty screen — Following fills in as you follow people and join communities.

Above the posts themselves, Discover also carries a few extra widgets woven into the list as you scroll — trending communities, a “What’s Happening” card, people to follow, and similar — spaced out every few posts. These are separate discovery surfaces in their own right; see Trending & Happening and Search.

Refreshing and loading more

  • Pull down at the top of the feed to refresh it.
  • Scroll down to load more posts automatically — the next batch loads just before you reach the bottom, so you shouldn’t see a loading pause.
  • If new posts arrive while you’re reading, a small “N new posts” pill appears near the top. Tap it to jump to the top and pull the new posts in — the feed never silently reshuffles what’s under your thumb.

Actions on a post

Every post card has the same row of actions along the bottom:

  1. React — tap the smiley icon on the left to open the emoji-reaction picker. Popular reactions already on the post show up next to it as small animated chips; tap one to add your own.
  2. Like — tap the heart to like the post. The number next to it is the post’s current like count.
  3. Comment — tap the speech-bubble icon to open the comment thread in place.
  4. Share — tap the share icon to open the share sheet (copy link, repost, or send to a platform like X). See Sharing a Post for the full flow.

Save a post for later from the ⋯ (more) menu in the top corner of the card, not from the action row itself — tap ⋯ → Save. The full options menu also has Not Interested, Copy Link, Send To, Report, and — for your own posts — Edit and Delete. See Bookmarks and Not Interested for what those specific options do.

On the web

The same Following/Discover pill and post actions carry over to nuts.social. A couple of differences worth knowing:

  • The search icon next to the pill opens a search drawer over the feed instead of leaving the page.
  • On a wide (desktop) browser window, a quick composer bar sits above the feed so you can start a post without opening the full composer first.
