Polls

A poll is one of the attachment types in the composer, alongside photo, video, and link. See Creating a Post for the rest of the composer.

Creating a poll

  1. In the composer, tap the Poll icon among the attachment chips. The title field’s placeholder changes to “Ask a question…” — type your question there.

  2. Fill in at least two options. Each option is its own field, labeled Option 1, Option 2, and so on. Tap Add option to add another — you can have up to 10 options, and you need to fill in the current ones before adding more.

  3. Choose how long the poll stays open, under Open for: 1 day, 3 days, or 7 days. A duration is required — there’s no way to leave a poll open indefinitely.

  4. Tap Post to publish it, the same as any other post.

Voting

Tap an option to cast your vote. Polls on Nuts are single-choice, and once you vote, that’s final — there’s no way to change your vote afterward. Your own selection is marked with a checkmark; nobody else’s individual choice is shown, only the combined totals for each option.

Viewing results

Once you’ve voted — or once the poll’s time is up — each option shows a percentage bar along with the total number of votes and either how long until the poll closes or that it’s already closed. You can’t see results before voting while a poll is still open.

On the web

The flow is the same, with two differences: the web composer allows up to 6 options instead of 10, and each option is capped at 60 characters (the app doesn’t enforce a character limit on options). The duration picker defaults to 3 days on web versus 1 day in the app, though you can choose any of the three either way.
