Account Security
Account-level security settings — your linked login methods and your switch PIN — live in Settings.
Connections (linked accounts)
You can connect additional login methods to your Nuts account so you have more than one way to sign in.
- Open Settings and go to the Connections section.
- You’ll see rows for Google Account and X (Twitter). Each shows a Connect button if it isn’t linked yet, or a green checkmark with an Unlink option if it is.
- Tap Connect on either row and complete the sign-in for that provider to link it.
Linking X also syncs your @handle — connecting your X account updates your Nuts handle to match it automatically.
Switch PIN
The switch PIN protects switching between multiple Nuts accounts on the same device — see Multiple Accounts for the full add/switch flow. You manage it from Settings → Account switch PIN:
- Set up PIN — appears once you’ve added a second account. Enter a 4-digit PIN, then re-enter it to confirm.
- Change PIN — enter your current PIN, then a new one, then confirm the new one.
- Reset PIN — removes your other stored accounts from this device and turns the PIN off. Your current account stays signed in; you’ll sign back into the others individually. This can’t be undone — a forgotten PIN isn’t recoverable, since resetting deletes the protected sessions rather than unlocking them.
Biometric app lock — coming soon
Nuts is building an opt-in biometric app lock — fingerprint or Face ID — that locks the app after you’ve been away for a while. It isn’t available yet in the current app build. This is a mobile-only feature by nature, since it depends on your device’s own fingerprint or face recognition; it has no web equivalent. This page will be updated with the full setup steps once it ships.
On the web
Connections and the switch PIN work the same way on the web, both under Settings. Biometric app lock doesn’t apply to the web version at all.
