Is Nuts free to use?
Yes. Signing up, posting, joining communities, chatting, and using NutsMode are all free. Nuts Premium is an optional paid upgrade with extra perks like premium chat themes — see Nuts Premium.
What’s the difference between the feed and communities?
Your feed is a personalized stream of posts pulled from across all of Nuts — people you follow plus recommendations. A community is a dedicated space built around a topic or interest, with its own posts, chat, moderators, and rules. You can post to your feed without belonging to any community, and you can join as many communities as you want. See Your Feed and Creating a Community.
What is NutsMode?
NutsMode is Nuts’ video-only feature: chains of short videos, starting with a Seed and continued by other people’s Echoes. See What is NutsMode?
What are Shells?
Shells are tag-gated reaction videos — someone tags you, you unlock a short recording prompt, and your reaction posts into a private feed. See Shells.
Can I use Nuts on desktop?
Yes. The web app at nuts.social works in any modern browser and covers nearly everything the mobile apps do. The main difference is push notifications, which only the installed Android/iOS apps can deliver — on the web you’ll see new activity in the notifications bell instead. See Web vs. Mobile App.
Do I need a crypto wallet to sign up?
No. You can create an account with email, Google, X, or Apple, and a wallet is created for you automatically behind the scenes. If you’d rather use a wallet you already own, you can sign in with an external wallet instead. See Creating an Account.
Can I have more than one Nuts account?
Yes, you can add and switch between multiple accounts on the same device without fully signing out of the first one. See Multiple Accounts.
Can I earn money on Nuts?
Community owners can see a monetization preview on their community’s stats page, but it’s a preview, not a live payout system — this is still in development. See Community Earnings & Stats.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings, scroll to Account Management, and tap Delete Account. You’ll get a warning that the action is permanent — all your posts, comments, and data are removed and this can’t be undone. If you run into trouble with this from the app, see Contact & Support.
