What is NutsMode?

NutsMode is Nuts’ dedicated video space — its own tab, separate from your main feed. What makes it different isn’t just the format, it’s the structure: videos in NutsMode aren’t standalone posts you scroll past one at a time. They’re organized into chains.

Chains: how it’s built

Every chain starts with one video — the Seed. Anyone can reply to a chain with their own video, called an Echo, and echoes stack up in order, one after another. If someone wants to take an echo somewhere new, they can Crack it — branching it off into a brand-new chain of its own, still linked back to where it split off.

Seed, Echo, and Crack are covered in their own pages:

Video, and only video

A chain is video from end to end. There’s no way to reply to a chain with text, a photo, or a poll — every seed, echo, and crack is a video clip. That’s a deliberate choice: NutsMode is built to feel like a fast, continuous scroll, and mixing in other formats would break that.

Brands as participants

Some chains are sponsored by a brand rather than started by an individual — you may see one featured as a card in your main feed, marked with an Ad label, alongside a description and sometimes a reward pool for people who join in with an Echo. The idea is that a brand’s chain lives inside the same format everyone else uses, rather than as a separate ad interrupting your scroll.

Where to find it

Open the NutsMode tab and you’ll land on For You, a mixed feed pulling from chains across Nuts. Alongside it are Seeds, Echoes, Cracks, and Saved — narrower views if you want to browse one type of video at a time, or come back to something you bookmarked.

On the web

NutsMode works the same way on the web app — the same tabs, the same chain structure, the same videos. The main difference is how you get into recording and publishing, which is covered on the individual Seed, Echo, and Crack pages.
